Keynote Address from the 2015 Transgender Day of Remembrance

What an honor to be asked to speak at this year’s Transgender Day of Remembrance ceremony in Colorado Springs, Colorado. However, I know I echo the thoughts of many others when I say I look forward to the day where I am not asked to speak at this event, because one day we won’t have to hold this event anymore.

Anyway, I had a colleague who was kind enough to film the speech, so I can share it with those who could not be there.

It was very comforting to see so many familiar faces in the audience. It’s the kind of night where you need to feel surrounded by understanding, support, and hugs.
